About Me

I am a Registered Counsellor with the Health Practitioners Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I run a Private Practice from my home in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

I am passionate about what I do, having studied and worked in this specific field for 9 Years. I have obtained an Honours Degree, majoring in Psychology, and have intentions to pursue a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology in the future. I have special interests in adolescent behaviour, understanding that adolescence is a time of tremendous change for any teenager. Relationships with parents and authority figures tend to become strained during this period, as teenagers attempt to find their own individuality and place in the world.

Having overcome a struggle, as a teenager, with Adolescent Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and an Eating Disorder, I am in a position where I hope to educate and assist adolescents through their own personal difficulties, using my own experiences and the self-knowledge I have gained.

I offer the opportunity and space for pre-teens and teenagers to express the stress and emotional difficulties that they are experiencing, whether it includes; parent, sibling or peer relationships, school and academics, their body image, their futures, university and career choices, self-esteem and self-development, or risk-taking behaviour.

My main aim is to assist young people in making the transition from pre-teen to teenager, and from teenager to young adult, a smoother journey for both the individual and their respective families.
